About the Artist
Hello and Welcome! My name is Christina Katz, and I’m a jeweler from Portland Oregon. Inspired greatly by nature, Victorian era fashion, Regency era fashion, and Art Nouveau illustrations; I began metal-smithing in 2016. Finding metal-smithing was like a lightning strike moment, the product of years growing up knowing I wanted to be an artist, but not knowing what medium best suited my creative vision. To this end, I had taken every art class I could find, but nothing really stuck until on a wild hair I decided to try metal-smithing and I found my passion. I have spent the years since growing and expanding my knowledge of metal-smithing, designing, and crafting bespoke elegant designs inspired by Lizzie Bennett’s foyer, English gardens, Oregon forests, and the works of Alphonse Mucha.
Our Mission
Whether you’re dancing the night away at your dream wedding, courting Mr. Darcy at the Ball, or frolicking through the forests in Rivendell; our jewelry is meant to make you feel like the main character in your own story. Through our elegant floral designs, we aspire to transport you to a world where Elves may invite you to sing under the stars, you’re dressing for the King’s Spring Ball, or Elizabeth Bennet has inquired if you might walk the garden with her just before tea.
Our handmade jewelry is carefully designed to be both romantic and modern, elegant and fantastical. On a trip to the store in a box seat at the Opera, our jewelry will make you feel lavish and each piece is meticulously handcrafted to elevate your unique style.
At Luna Flora Designs, all of our designs are handmade here in Portland, Oregon. Yes, even cast pieces! We pride ourselves on being local, and producing locally. With the environmental costs and fair wages in mind, we are careful to source our metal materials as locally as possible. The vast majority of our metals come from other businesses local to the Pacific Northwest. All one of a kind pieces are handmade by me in our home studio, all cast pieces are cast by a small family-owned and operated studio in Portland (and finished in house by yours truly).
